Anti-Ragging Policy

MIT University Sikkim maintains a strict zero-tolerance policy against ragging. The university is committed to providing a safe and secure environment for all students.

Definition of Ragging

Ragging constitutes one or more of any act, conduct or practice including:

  • Physical or mental abuse including sexual harassment
  • Asking students to do any act or perform something which they don't want to do
  • Any conduct by senior students that has the effect of teasing or handling roughly
  • Exploiting services for completing academic tasks assigned to individuals or groups
  • Any act that affects the mental health and confidence of students
  • Financial extortion or forceful expenditure burden
  • Any act of indiscipline that teases, treats or handles students roughly
  • Abuse by spoken words, emails, posts, public insults

The university follows UGC Regulations on Curbing the Menace of Ragging in Higher Educational Institutions, 2009.
