Scholarships & Rebates
Merit and need-based scholarships, rebates, education loan facility and renewal norms at MIT University Sikkim.
MIT University Sikkim is committed to developing the next generation of leadership for organisations, communities and society at large. As part of this vision, scholarships and rebates are instituted to help those who are brilliant in academics and those who deserve world-class education but do not have the means, thereby strengthening the roots of our future generation — a small step towards the collective goal of making India the knowledge superpower of the world.
Rebates for Students

Students can also pay fees in interest-free instalments.
Education Loan Facility
- All courses of MIT University Sikkim are covered for grant of loan.
- Speedy disposal of loan applications.
- Sanction can be accorded by the branch of the respective bank where the campus is located, irrespective of the location of the student.
- Loans are sanctioned at a concessional rate of interest as compared to the normal scheme of the respective bank.
- The student can cover all expenses (e.g. hostel, stationery, etc.) while applying for the loan.
Special Scholarships
Leading Indian and international individuals and companies may institute scholarships and awards for meritorious students of MIT University Sikkim. Some of them provide 50% to 100% scholarship to meritorious students via a scholarship examination, such as:
- Jai Bhanbhouri Mata Scholarship
- Prof. S.R. Mittal Memorial Scholarship
- Lohpurush Scholarship
Renewal & Continuation
Fellowships, scholarships and studentships may be renewed provided the student secures at least 50% marks in the I and II Semester examinations and maintains an all-round satisfactory record of work and attendance, to be certified by the Head of the Department concerned. The value of the fellowships, scholarships and studentships shall be as determined from time to time by the University.
