Our Date of Establishment — Stated Clearly
MIT University Sikkim — Management and Information Technology University — was established under the Management and Information Technology University, Sikkim Act, 2024 (Act No. 11 of 2024) of the Sikkim Legislative Assembly, with effect from 26 June 2025, and commenced academic operations on 10 July 2025.
- The University's academic records begin from the 2025 academic session.
- The University has no students who enrolled before 2025.
- The University holds no academic records from any earlier period.
- The University has never issued a degree, diploma or mark sheet dated before the 2025 session.
Public Advisory — Forged Documents
Any document purporting to be issued by MIT University Sikkim, or by Management and Information Technology University, Sikkim, in respect of a period before 2025, is not genuine.

How to Report a Suspected Forged Document
- 1Email registrar@mituniversitysikkim.com with the subject line "Suspected Forged Document".
- 2Attach a clear scan or photograph of the document or advertisement.
- 3Provide the name and contact details of the person or centre offering it, if known.
- 4We will respond in writing and, where a forgery is established, lodge a police complaint and inform UGC.
There is no charge for reporting. You may report anonymously, though we may be unable to revert.
